🪿 Gold Goose Eggs

Shiny gold eggs placed before play begins. They permanently block spaces and never score.

💥 Cracked Blockers

Open cracked shells placed during play after scoring a 4- or 5-row. 1 cracked egg = 2 blocked spots permanently.

🐣

Setup

Step 1 — Place Gold Goose Eggs (Neutral Blockers)
Before the game begins, players alternate placing gold goose eggs on any empty cells. These permanently block those spaces for the entire game.

🪿 Goose Eggs to Place

2 Players4 goose eggs total
3 Players3 goose eggs total
4 Players2 goose eggs total

🥚 Colored Eggs Per Player

2 Players13 eggs each
3 Players12 eggs each
4 Players10 eggs each

Step 2 — Choose Your Color
Each player picks a color. Decide who goes first, then play clockwise.

🏆

Objective

Take turns placing eggs. Score points by completing straight lines of 3, 4, or 5 eggs of your color horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. The first player to reach 12 points wins — or, if all eggs are placed first, the player with the highest score wins.

🧮

Scoring — Eggsample!

On your turn, place an egg. If you complete a straight line of 3, 4, or 5 of your own eggs — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — you score. Here's every situation you'll encounter, in order.

3-in-a-Row
1
Point
4-in-a-Row
2
Points + Crack 1 🥚
5-in-a-Row
3
Points + Crack 2 🥚🥚

✅ Basic Lines — Any Direction Counts

✓ Horizontal — 1 pt
3 of your eggs straight across
✓ Vertical — 1 pt
3 of your eggs straight down
✓ Diagonal — 1 pt
3 of your eggs straight diagonal

⚡ Combos — Two Complete Lines at Once = 2 Points

A Combo scores when one egg completes two separate 3-in-a-row lines simultaneously. Each line must have all 3 eggs — the shared egg counts for both. Score 1 pt per line = 2 pts total.

⚡ + Shape Combo — 2 pts
★ egg completes a full 3-across and a full 3-down. Both lines score = 1 + 1 = 2 pts
⚡ L-Shape Combo — 2 pts
★ corner egg completes a full 3-across and a full 3-down. L-shapes are valid! = 1 + 1 = 2 pts
✗ Not a Combo — only 1 pt
The faded egg below only has 1 in that column — it needs 3 to score. Just the horizontal row counts = 1 pt

💥 Cracking — 4 or 5-in-a-Row Blocks the Board

Score 4 or 5 in a row and you get to crack eggs — permanently blocking spots to shut down your opponent. Cracking happens in two steps per egg: place the 1st half inside the scored line, then place the 2nd half in any adjacent cell (up, down, left, or right). Only valid cells are selectable at each step.

4-in-a-Row → Crack 1 Egg
Scored line cells glow — pick one for the 1st half
Adjacent cells glow — pick one for the 2nd half
1 cracked egg = 2 spots permanently blocked
5-in-a-Row → Crack 2 Eggs
①② Same 2-step process for the 1st cracked egg
③④ Whole process repeats for the 2nd cracked egg
2 cracked eggs = 4 spots permanently blocked
Pick any glowing cell
① Scored line glows orange
After scoring 4-in-a-row, pick any egg from that line for the 1st half of your cracked blocker
💥 Pick adjacent cell
② Adjacent cells glow orange
1st half placed (💥). Now pick any adjacent cell (up/down/left/right) for the 2nd half
💥 💥
✓ Done — 2 spots blocked!
Both halves placed. 1 cracked egg = 2 permanently blocked spots. For 5-in-a-row, repeat the whole process for egg #2

🚫 What Breaks Your Line

Any egg or blocker that isn't yours in the middle of a line breaks it. No score on either side.

✗ Goose Egg in the Middle
Gold goose egg splits your row — no score on either side
✗ Opponent's Egg in the Middle
Works the same as a blocker — splits your row, no score on either side
💥 blocked
✗ Cracked Blocker in the Middle
Cracked egg blockers work like goose eggs — splits the row, no score on either side
